Remember Vertières. Know the history. Understand what came next.

Black Republic Press presents

The First Signed Copy Auction

Join Black Republic Press for a live auction of the first copy of HAITI: THE FIRST BLACK NATION — WHAT HAPPENED? signed by PAPOUCH.

From the Riches of Saint-Domingue to Revolution, Debt, Intervention, and Economic Crisis.

Planned start:

That is the midnight between November 17 and November 18.

Bidding and auction registration are not open yet. This page announces the planned event. Joining the launch list does not place a bid, reserve the book, or register you as a bidder.

Why November 18?

A date chosen with purpose

November 18 marks the anniversary of the Battle of Vertières. Our planned launch honors that victory and invites readers to explore the book’s central question: what happened after Haiti won its freedom?

Before someone else tells Haiti’s story for us, let’s know it ourselves.

Serious History. Plain Language. PAPOUCH’s Voice.
